Sky Necklace
Here is the Sky Necklace.! To me this is how our sun on the west coast often appears - just a glimmer, barely seen through the clouds. I never give up hope that at any moment the sun might burst through :)
I am showing the stone that I originally used - the blue mist Chalcedony when I first made this necklace in it's natural state with colours just like that mysterious sun, hints of pinks, yellows and blues each one a little different. The other stone that I have started to use is in it's natural bright green form. Chrysoprase is bold and beautiful.
Both of these stones are seen to have a meaning. It is said that and that among having many other qualities, Chalcedony is a nurturing stone, while Chrysoprase promotes joy and happiness. I just know that I like being around both of these stones and it feels good to be using them for others to enjoy too. Both are very hard and resilient, so you don't have to ever worry about damaging them.
As you can see in one of the images, I have opened the back of the pendant to let the light shine through. The rings move around as you wear the necklace and sometimes makes a jingling sound when you move around. All of the necklace is solid sterling silver and that I have slightly oxidized the silver to feature the detail. The chain is a simple oval link sterling silver chain and comes in 30".
The size of the pendant is at the largest ring 1 1/2 inches wide and including the bale (loop) it is 1 3/4 inches long.
As you can also see in the images the opening that the chain slips through is quite generous 3mm plus so can if be used on other chains you may have if they are within that diameter.
