Earth Locket
The Earth Locket is the first locket in my locket series which started in 2007.
The original intention of this locket is still very relevant today.
It seems that all intentions to contribute, big or small, have an impact. Those areas of impact connect to form the earth's community.
The Earth Locket gives a place to note your personal relationship with the world.
I chose the image of the earth, shifting the traditional global view to include a peek of Africa on the same side as the Americas. This deviation from the standard, western-centred projection of the earth serves for me as a reminder of our global connectedness.
I engraved the image of a vine into the bale, to celebrate the vibrancy and resourcefulness of all living things that make our planet what it is.
Secured with rare earth magnets, the Earth Locket opens like a book to reveal the inscription
written like a graffiti message to the world “One Can Make a Difference” .
There is also a place for a note to yourself about the difference you would like to make in our world, or if given to someone special, gift givers have told me that they like to write a message of thanks and tuck it inside the locket .
The earth locket is made of Sterling silver and comes on a 30" or 32" or your preference of sterling silver link chain. Each locket is numbered and I record where in the world it heads off to. Choose your locket number from the list of those remaining for this locket from the list below. If you would like a number over 100 please message me and I will let you know which numbers are available to choose from.
I then stamp your personal number inside and record where it the world it is heading off to.
